i did ask this question to one of english teachers in my school and we tried to figure out the answer. and we found out, an easy question could turn tough if one tries to answer without knowledge and firm argument.
an item is called a duster when it is used to wipe a blackboard, because obviously chalks used to write on th BB will turn out into dust once they're are thrust onto the BB surface.
but what if the same item is used to wipe whiteboards, WB. can you call it a duster as well?.. no dust involved, ink instead..
